When the beginning of June hits around here, birthday fever begins! The last two days, Grace has told everyone that her birthday was this coming week and that mine was the day before hers. So everyone from Texas to Kansas, then all around Junction City and Manhattan, knows we are having birthdays.
We had a good trip to Texas, althought fast and furious as ever. We missed a lot of people, but managed to see quite a few so we'll call it a success. The drive home was uneventful which is always good.
We're here for less than a week before we head off on our next adventure: a week long retreat in CO. We are so excited! We'll be there with other wives of deployed soldiers and their families. The kids will be treated to VBS (or nursery, in Davis' case) while the adults have evening and morning worship/study sessions. The afternoons will be free to do whatever. We can't wait!!!
Tomorrow is the big day around here. Hard to believe that I was in "labor" with Grace five years ago. It doesn't seem like that long ago, and yet we seem to have lived a lifetime since then. Her party is at 1; I've rented a bouncy house for the festivities, which should be interesting. Supposedly, you need like a whole platoon (5-10) of men to unload the thing and I only have me and my neighbor Katie!!! please pray we'll get the darn thing to the house and inflated, then deflated and returned without any problems or injuries. I promise pictures at some point!!
